Free Tarot / Numerology / Personality & Minor Personality Numbers
For numerological purposes, the Personality and Minor Personality Numbers share the same interpretations, but the two are rarely one and the same. The two are often referred to as the Outer Personality Number and the Minor Personality Number. The two differ in the letters that are used to calculate them.
While the Heart's Desire Numbers deal with vowels, the Personality Numbers deal with consonants. The calculations are similar in that the Outer Personality Number is calculated using the consonants in your given name – the name you were given at birth, like the Heart's Desire Number. Your Minor Personality Number uses the consonants in your nickname, the name you use to introduce yourself in casual situations, just like the Minor Heart's Desire Number.
Your Outer Personality number speaks to the qualities and attributes you possess that you are comfortable sharing with others. This is the public You. Your Minor Personality Number speaks of those things you keep to yourself or only share with those you love and trust. This is the private You
Your Personality Numbers also speak of how others perceive you. The things you keep hidden may be more visible than you think they are so pay close attention to the Minor number and see if the private you might be sneaking into public view.
Here is how these numbers are calculated:
Let's use yet another imaginary person. This time, let's make his name Gerald Robert Pierce. Gerald would calculate his Outer Personality Number using G,R,L,D; R,B,R,T; P,R,C.
The calculation would then look like this:
7+9+3+4 = 23; 2+3 = 5
9+2+9+2 = 22; 2+2 = 4 (yes, reduce master numbers at this stage if they occur)
7+9+3 = 19; 1+9 = 10; 1+0 = 1
5+4+1 = 10; 1+0 = 1
Gerald Robert Pierce has an Outer Personality Number of 1.
Now, what if his nickname is Gerry? He would use “Gerry Pierce” to get his Minor Personality Number and use the following letters: G,R,R; PRC.
The Y functions as a vowel in the second syllable so we don't count it. For more on how that works, please refer to the chapter that covers the Heart's Desire Number.
Gerry's Minor Personality number is subsequently calculated this way:
7+9+9 = 25; 2+5 = 7
7+9+3 = 19; 1+9 = 10; 1+0 = 1
7+1 = 8.
So, Gerry's Outer Personality Number is 1, his Minor Personality Number is 8. The minor number compliments and clarifies the outer. Based on the descriptions below, it could be said of Gerry that he has a dynamic personality but people may perceive that he comes on a bit too strong at times. He also likely has strong opinions on things that would best be kept to himself.
That is, of course, a very simplistic interpretation but you get the idea, I am certain.
